Submit to Zine World

Zine World depends on your submissions. Share what you know with your fellow zine publishers and readers. We’re looking for new listings and updates to our lists of upcoming events, zine libraries, zine review zines, recommended stores & distros, and online resources. We’re also looking for tips and recommendations relating to mailing, printing, publishing, and other zine-related topics. Email info to wordofmouth@undergroundpress.org.

Have feedback about Zine World or our website? Write to jerianne@undergroundpress.org. All letters received are assumed to be for possible publication. We reserve the right to edit your letters for grammar, length, or clarity.

Volunteers

This is a volunteer-produced publication, and we’re always looking for more volunteers, including writers and reviewers. If you like what we’re doing, please help us do it better! We require only that you follow through and generally give a damn.

We need researchers, clerical help, proofreaders, friends with photocopiers, and friends with money and stamps — whatever skills or assets you have to offer, we can and will put to good use. All volunteers receive a free copy of any issue they contribute to. If you’re a reliable, responsible person with lots of enthusiasm about zines and DIY culture, please drop us a note!

Art

We always welcome illustrations, to overcome the inherent textiness of a review zine. All artwork should be submitted in black-and-white or grayscale.

For cover illustrations, we’re looking for artwork that’s strikingly attractive, funny, or thoughtful, and somehow related to the broad theme of zines. To save yourself time and trouble, we strongly suggest that you query first, with a description or rough sketch of your cover ideas.

Interior artwork should be small: 3 inches or less in height, and 5 inches or less in width. Depending upon editorial requirements, submissions may be reduced or enlarged in size. Preferably, humans shown in your artwork will reflect the full range of American gender, color, and cultural variety. . . i.e., please, not all white males.

Electronic submissions should be in tif, pdf, or jpg format, at least 300 dpi. Send all art and art-related queries to our art director at art@undergroundpress.org.
