zinester podcasts

Hannah (of Ax Wound and other zines) has started a new podcast, featuring interviews with various zine publishers, called the Zine Core Radio Show. Episodie 1 has Jessica Disobedience, writer of Safety Pin Girl and Sad & Beautiful World, and Sarah Arr! of Zinetopia and Tazewells Favorite Eccentric, plus spoken word by Hannah and Jolie Drama. Episode 2 features Melissa Ann (She’s So Very… and lead singer of Jerk Alert!), Alex Wrekk (Stolen Sharpie Revolution, Brainscan), and Sassafras Lowery (long time zinester/distro owner & author of two upcoming books: GSA to Marriage: Stories of a Life Lived Queerly and KICKED OUT). She’s looking for future guests – zine publishers, distro owners, zine readers, event planners, zine librarians, and so on – and info to announce – calls for submissions, stuff to promote, events, etc. – on future shows. A couple other zine-related podcasts we’ve mentioned before: Fall of Autumn hosts a podcast featuring spoken word by zine folk (you can also get it via iTunes). And the Phantom Power Comics Podcast includes info and reviews about comics and other zines. Free Rent Community includes zine reviews as part of its podcasts.
