Why are there 2–3 bedroom houses (not apartments) in Melbourne listed for $600k–$750k just 20–30km from the CBD? What’s the catch; are these areas unsafe, poorly built new estates, lacking infrastructure, or just low-growth suburbs? In Sydney this is impossible.

Is it fair to say Australia’s economy is built on high immigration (students, temp workers) to sustain GDP, fuel housing, prop up Uni’s and banks? It’s all deeply interconnected and no major party will cut immigration, because it’s now tied to our entire growth model. Is there no alternative?

What city should a 25–30 y/o single man buy in with no inheritance? I rent in Sydney and it’s a nightmare, priced out, barely surviving. I’m corporate, love the city, but not rural. Friends and family are here, but I want to get ahead, not just get by. Where would you move in my shoes?

Why did we allow universities to become corporate, profit-driven machines? In Australia, unis, banks, and developers all thrive on mass immigration. We sold out our future for short-term profits, handing over national interests to private power. Now our economy is reliant on immigration.

The left figure is average savings and right is median savings (which is more accurate). How can this be possible? Are Australians really this cash poor and illiquid? Are Australians all heavily indebted mostly by their mortgages? How is this not talked about more? This is an economic crisis.

I hope Labor takes real action on housing, but it’s worth remembering many politicians (Labor included) own multiple properties and have benefited from generous housing tax laws. They’re often personally incentivised to maintain the status quo, not fix the housing crisis. Another 3 years to do so…

Adam Bandt losing his seat hits hard. He made this video responding to a post I wrote when I was feeling hopeless about the future. He genuinely cared, and that meant something. Whatever your politics, it’s rare to feel seen. Wishing him the best in what’s next.

We need to ban CGT D and NG. Labor has a super majority and a mandate. But would the Aussie public be so dumb to vote against this, if it went to a referendum? Do Aussies actually want to fix housing or not and just complain? You can’t have a affordable housing situation and prolonged capital growth

Today marks a rejection of both conservative politics and the Tree Tories (Greens). I support many Green policies, but their obstruction of Labor’s agenda was in bad faith. Labor now has no excuse, they must act bold, be economically progressive, and improve material conditions for all. Act & REFORM
