I am about half way through a 5 day fast & was wondering about net weight loss after refeeding. Most people seem to regain about half the weight lost after a 5 day fast since what is lost is water weight. If one stays hydrated during a 5 day fast, how is half the weight loss due to water loss?
A fast is "a period of such abstention or self-denial". For most fasts, there are no set rules on when to start or how long they should last. Your own instincts are usually your best guide. A fast can be from traditional things like 3 solid meals, from social media like Reddit, Google Plus or Facebook or even quitting smoking for a day. The great comedian, Ed Wynn said, "Without your health, riches, possessions and fame are all mud."
Anyone on a longer fast? I am on hour 36 of 120, hoping to last for 5 days. I have been fasting a couple years now but have done 40-48 hours at most, but mostly fast for 20-24 hours. There’s no hunger since I think my body is fat adapted but prepping food for my family makes it hard.
Intermittent Fasting (IF) is way of eating that restricts *when* you eat, usually on a daily or weekly schedule. People engage in IF to reap the many benefits to health, fitness, and mental clarity.
